![]() ![]() 11-year-old Tsubasa Oozora started playing football at a very young age, and while it was mostly just a recreational sport for his friends, for him, it developed into something of an obsession. ![]() But since the anime stops before many, important matches, once again, it's better read the manga. Captain Tsubasa is the passionate story of an elementary school student whose thoughts and dreams revolve almost entirely around the love of soccer. It's a shame because the manga Road to 2002 arc is not bad at all, it involves many characters and the challenges between themselves, so it's pretty nice. Road to 2002 imho it's not so great, i don't like the animation (the originale and the Captain Tsubasa J ones were way better), they changed many details and they don't mention vital characters from the World Youth Arc or they don't give them enough justice and the ending was totally invented it's a bit inaccurate too. But sadly you'll miss all the World Youth Arc, which is beautiful with many important characters involved, so the manga is crucial. ![]() After that, there is Shin Captain Tsubasa, which is good even and pretty much accurate to the manga except one character who's not included (Tamotsu), but since this anime stops after the 1st round of Asian Prelimiaries it's not vital to the plot. If you want see the anime, you can watch the OAV after the MS tournament, which covers the U16 France Tournament so you can complete that arc. It's more clear, covers anything (ofc XD) and it's linear. ![]()
